SAC is a private corporation that is fully registered with the Federal Ministry of Commerce and Industry and with close cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of Somalia. SAC is determined to help recover revamp; develop the Somali agri-businesses, particularly the Somali Commercial bananas.

SAC is a member of Somali farmers and banana cooperatives with mutual agreement with banana coop farmers & developing new plantations in the South West and HirShabelle States.

The Ministry Of Trade & Industry

SAC is deeply concerned of the trade protection policies the Somali Gov’t, specially, the banana sector where local companies have resiliently maintained the existence and development stages for so many years. The Gov’t should protect FDI [hostile] takeover of Somali commercial bananas and promote a dignified partnerships with local companies, if not imposing non-competition and exclusive export rights for SAC and Somali companies. Also, the Gov’t should seek tax relief facilitation on the Somali agri-businesses and particularly the banana exports to the Arab League & to the Turkish markets.

The Gov’t should solicit national financial investment for the private agri business companies and provide tax relieve support for importations of materials, equipment and the necessary farm inputs for SAC.

SAC should align with COC in joint efforts of launching banana investment forums, export documentations and tax relieve applications. Agri support fundraising forums in friendly countries and counterparts for SAC.

Direct / indirect support for SAC by Int’l development partners may help revive the development of sustainable economic recovery through massive job creation opportunities in the recovery & development of commercial Somali bananas & export industry.

Federal Gov’t

Direct / indirect support for SAC through the development of agriculture infrastructures, roads and security should help revive, develop and sustain the agri business development & particularly the commercial Somali bananas & export industry. This will help in creating youth employment opportunities and economic recovery & sustainable economy for South-West, Jubba Land and Hirshabelle States.
